- Winter – ASSU EJ Committee hosts the first Stories of Sustainability

- Winter – Paloma Hernandez and others conduct survey of EJ interests and needs
2018
- Spring – Darel Scott, Stephanie Fischer, and others organize Earth in Color festival at Stanford

- February – EJWG creates email listerv, with membership
- March – Student Nancy Chang creates first EJWG website
- Spring – EJWG proposes EJ cluster hire for tenure-track faculty
- Spring – Students for Environmental and Racial Justice emerges and holds rally to support EJWG’s cluster hire demand, as well as other demands
2020
- Spring – EJWG awarded Stanford sustainability seed funding grant
- June – EJWG launches EJ storytelling initiatives and blog site with Emily Polk
- Fall – EJWG coordinating council formed as a formal governance body
- Fall – The Intro to EJ teaching team hosts widely accessible EJ colloquium & 3rd annual EJ symposium
- Winter – EJWG leaders call for EJ to be foundational in the new school of sustainability
2021
- January – EJWG publishes op-ed “Environmental justice must be foundational to the new School of Sustainability”
- March – EJWG launches quarterly newsletter with Bianca Santos
- May – EJWG organizes Joint Research workshop on Environmental Justice and Human Planetary Health
- June –EJWG organizes Indigenous EJ symposium “Indigenous Leadership in the Emerging Green Economy: Mining, Silicon Valley, and Global Environmental Justice” with SIRGE Coalition members
- June – EJWG submits Cross-Campus EJ Initiative Proposal "A Vision for Sustainable and Just Societies: The Stanford Cross-Campus Initiative for Environmental Justice" to new school leadership
- July – Student committee on the New School concludes deliberative polling and asks trustees for additional EJ support
- July – EJ listed as an initiative within the Institute for Sustainable Societies in new school structure
